One of the neat things about film is you never know what you’re going to get. You also never know what you’re going to get if you have a film scanner that freaks out sometimes and does weird things.. So not sure exactly what’s going on here but I think it’s groovy. For some reason this frame also had a lot of scratches and marks – none of the others were this dramatic?! I think it adds something.

I’m headed out of town for the weekend — though I expect there to be some photography happenings. Yay for a change of scenery! :)

I am planning on shooting some film this weekend, too, but that means we won’t get to see the results for at least a week! So sad. Although maybe faster, I’m not sure — I’ve heard that colour film traditionally gets processed faster but this is colour slide film. I will be bringing the standard colour film to CVS – they process it in an hour and charge me $2. How can I go wrong?! :) It’s all expired, so it’s kind of a hit and miss anyway.

Usually this time of year is full of wondrous photos from me, as the pull of beautiful lights and snow is hard to resist. I will admit that this year I’m a little short on holiday cheer. A few weeks ago my grandmother passed away and shortly thereafter my other grandmother fell quite ill. It’s been very trying and through it I have not found too much artistic inspiration.

However I did take a few photos recently to share. The Christmas flower, the poinsettia, is one of my favourites. I like seeing it everywhere come wintertime – it seems so out of place in the summer.
