Hanging out at the Johnny Appleseed festival. Lots of people – it was kind of ridiculous.

Hanging out at Johnny Appleseed Festival… the best part, by far, was how many people dressed up!
This band of music makers were having a blast and getting quite the audience. They are playing the Fife, which isn’t the sort of instrument you hear about much these days.
I took quite a few photos of people dressed up – should be fun to go through all of them!

My good friend Mikey decided to dress up as me for Hallowe’en. I do not celebrate Hallowe’en myself but I agreed to help him in his adventure. We bleached out his hair and I gave him one of my shirts. He found a pair of women’s jeans and covered them in paint and roof tar. He took an old pair of steel toe boots and added 3″ heels to them. Apparently this is my uniform…
(I do often wear a pair of steel toe boots with 3″ heels…)
Naturally, this became a photo shoot.

San Francisco – Now with Video!

Why, hello San Francisco.
I went to PhootCamp a few weeks ago in California, which was great fun. I managed to shoot video of the journey, which you can watch below. If you have a YouTube account you should totally comment on it and rate it!
Also, one of my videos shows a timelapse of the stop motion video we produced. I readily volunteered to be the model for the video – I have no problems being in front of a camera (*cough* how could you guess?) and no problems being slightly ridiculous. Besides, we happened to have a dress on hand that fit just right and my fingernails made for great contrast. I wish I could say I plan these things, alas, it was good fortune that the dress was there as well. I did not pack formal attire for California.
And then this is the video that we made, which you can watch the production of up above:
I would like to thank:
Paul Octavious for directing the short film.
Nate Bolt for shooting the short film.
Phoot Camp run by Laura Brunow Miner for the great opportunity to meet all these wonderful photographers.
Chris Boden with The Geek Group for lending me the video camera and then editing and hosting the VLOG
This is above and beyond my most collaborative post! And well worth it.
I will be posting some more still photos sometime soon, but these videos should keep you occupied for a while.
Mara and Michael
I recently had the opportunity to do a portrait session with both Mara and Michael. When Mike came to do his session, Mara joined him. We got a couple of shots of them together – this one was my favourite.

Below are the best from their individual sessions. I think they’re both amazing subjects, and am happy to have had the opportunity to take their portraits.

There are more up on my Flickr if you are interested.

I would like to thank my friend Katherine for allowing me to take her portrait last week. She is officially the first person to have their photo taken under Miss Moose’s Painterly Establishment!
I am going to be looking for a Few Good Models, who would be willing to be part of my portfolio project. If you are interested please leave a comment here with information on how I can contact you.

Self Portrait in the Kitchen
I know, it’s been a while. I promise I’ve been very busy. And especially busy with things that do not photograph all that well.
The good news is that I’m all geared up to start doing some fun new photos. The weather here in Michigan has bloomed into spring, which means one can finally go outside for more than 15 minutes at a time.
Be sure to scroll back a little – I uploaded several new times today and they aren’t all up on the front page.
